Getes Romo's DVDs came in the mail on Saturday and I had a chance to glance through them quickly. I can't wait to watch them in depth later! Zombywoof did a great job describing the DVDs so there is not much I could add. I never had the chance to see the Joan Rivers' Show when it was on the air so it is wonderful that there is a resource like Getes Romo's DVDs.

i thought of one more thing....i beleive it's on the first dvd. as you all know, vinnie's hair is shoulder lenght and kind of 'stringy', it just kinda lays there. but there is one of the intros where it doesn't look like him... it definitley sounds like him. they don't zoom in on him, so it's hard to tell. but it looks totally like dave weckl! his hair is....i don't know, like....styled. excatly like weckl's famous mullet. like maybe a a hair dresser on the show styled his (vinnies) hair for this one show. i watched that particular intro 20 times, and it just doesnt look like vinnie. let me know if any of you see the same thing.

getes....i am not blaming YOU for the camera work. i stated clearly that FOX F@#ked it all up showing the girl during vinnies solos. of course, maybe all those letters you sent made a bit if a diference, because they seemed to compromise and try to get them both. still lame though...

Greetings All,

to answer your question: my impression is that is NOT Vinnie (with mullet). I've been watching this footage since 1986 and he is a sub..sounds stiff if you listen closely.

For those who haven't received their copies yet, this sub only appears about two times...a total of 5 seconds.

also...I don't want to take the credit [or blame] for the progressing duration of camera shots of Vinnie. I cannot control that...it's just the nature of the course that the show took.

Believe me, when the camera started going to "Bev, the party tramp" I wrote in every day to each person shown at end of the show listed on the credits, and asked for them to return to zooming in on Vinnie as he played his fill.

But, hopefully, you'll agree that atleast 3 and a half of the discs show Vinnie, and the other one half you hear the genius. That's still a lot of video footage of the Master.

Thanks drummers.
Getes Romo

I thought Chad Wackerman filled in for Vinnie the few times a sub was needed?

Did you see Vinnie wearing his pirate hat on one of the shows. Jimmy Johnson is playing bass, too. Pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure I remember Chad was also the house chair drummer for another [late night?] talk show AW...can't remember the name though; someone in here is bound to remember...as was Will Kennedy, if I remember correctly, i'm pretty sure it was the Wayne Brady Show...Omar was on Sunday Night Live [Sanborn] WAY back, also...anyone remember that?
Those bands had fantastic players, no doubt.

Maybe Vinnie's sub on the JR show was D Logeman

I used to smoke a pipe & inhale [a NORMAL, regular, everyday one!...sure]...now I just post frequently [& occasionally double-post]...w00t ;cp
